Representative Payee Program
CRISS-CROSS, Inc. is appointed Representative Payee by the Social Security Administration, RRR Board, VA, Workers Compensation, Black Lung, Department of Health and Human Resources, or Employment.
Representative Payeeship is assigned when people have problems managing their benefits.
Clients of the Representative Payee Program may be elderly, developmentaly disabled, children, suffer from drug or alcohol addiction, have mental health problems, or just need help making sure their bills are paid.
Some clients of the program are voluntary. Some receive veterans benefits or assistance from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
Ask yourself these questions.
- Do you, a family member, a friend or someone you work with have an illness or disability that makes it difficult to pay bills?
- Have you gotten shut-off notices because you forgot to pay a bill?
- Has someone talked you into giving them money when you didn't have any to spare?
- Do you bounce checks on a regular basis?
- Does your checkbook remain unbalanced every month?
